Greg Carney

Greg is an innovative and proven leader in the sports industry who leads influence with his wealth of knowledge, experience and success. 

 

He specializes in connecting people, brands, organizations and ideas to create successful collaborations that extract maximum value from relationships.  He has led organizations and their partners to grow revenue, showcase products and services and ultimately build brand awareness.

 

As a results driven leader, his expertise includes leading cross functional teams to develop strategic integrated partnerships that include brand strategy, social, digital, mobile, experiential and event marketing from ideation, to execution, to evaluation.  

 

Greg's roster of employment includes working as Sr. Marketing Account Executive for the Chicago White Sox, Sr. Director of Corporate Partnerships for the 6-Time World Championship Chicago Bulls, VP of Marketing for the Denver Broncos, Director of Sports Administration for the Chicago Public Schools, Assistant Athletic Director of Marketing at University of Illinois Chicago (UIC) and General Manager of Denver Sports Properties.

 

Greg's collaborative efforts have enabled him to build partnerships with leading brands across all industries. Anheuser-Busch, Coca-Cola, Pepsi, Gatorade, INVESCO, U.S. Bank, Miller-Coors, United Airlines, Nike, AT&T, Verizon and hundreds of others have trusted Greg's innovation, energy and leadership to create the synergies that allow brands and companies to grow together.

 

Inspired by the belief that successful sports and entertainment partnerships can be a positive influence in the community, Greg has created dozens of outreach programs designed to promote inclusion and diversity, grow brand equity, and generate impactful revenues.

 

With the Denver Broncos, Greg helped build several community partners: The Denver Broncos Boys and Girls Club, Fan Fair, En Espanol, Football Clinics for Women, License Plate Program.  He also conceptualized The  Chicago White Sox signature fan experience, Soxfest.  Through his leadership, he leveraged organizational assets to build brand equity and strategic partnerships in their communities.

 

Greg served as the Chairperson of the Horizon League sponsorship group while representing UIC, and has been selected to serve and provide his knowledge and insights to many advisory boards and committees throughout his career; notably, NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell’s inaugural Marketing Advisory Committee and the NFL’s Marketing Internet Task Force, which developed league wide standards and protocols for all 32 teams. He was also selected to attend the prestigious NFL/Stanford Management Program, which invites one participant per team annually.  

                         

Greg earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management from Illinois Wesleyan University and studied at the Ohio University Sports Administration and Facility Management Program, where he was the inaugural recipient of the Chicago White Sox Minority Scholarship.
